DIY: How to make Vegan Headache relief balm/salve using essential oils. How to make an all natural/ organic headache cure/remedy/relief using essential oils.

Headaches are a PAIN! We know this, but what can we do about them. Well in this video I show you how to make an all natural headache remedy with aromatherapy using essential oils.

The smell of this essential oil headache blend is so refreshing. It brightens up your mood, it has a calming factor and when applied to the skin it has a cooling minty aroma that will relax any tense muscles contributing to you headache.

I tried to cover three types of headache with this balm/salve:

Tension Headaches: This is the most common type of headache. Tension headaches are also known as stress headaches but i try to address the tense muscle aspect using peppermint essential oil which is known to inhibit muscle contractions causing relaxing of the muscles.
Stress Headaches: Also known as tension headaches, they can start from a tense mind so i tried to address that individually by using lavender essential oil.
Sinus Headaches:Inflamed sinuses can cause pain in your cheeks, forehead and bridge of your nose. Because of all the pressure, it can build up and start causing a headache. I tried to address this using Eucalyptus which is good at clearing up respiratory and sinus issues.

INGREDIENTS:

Virgin Coconut Oil: 1 tsp
African Ivory Shea Butter: 1 tsp
Peppermint Essential Oil: 1 drop
Lavender Essential Oil: 1 drop
Eucalyptus Essential Oil: 1 drop

METHOD:
Combine all ingredients into a bowl and use a double boiler method to melt the shea butter and virgin coconut oil. Once melted , put in one drop of each essential oil, mix it and pour it into your container. Let it cool for 15 minutes or put it in the freezer for 5 min.

APPLICATION:
When you feel a headache coming om rub the balm into your temples, above your brows, back of your neck and massage gently. This will help loosen up the tension in your muscles. If you have a sinus headache do the same to the sides of your nose, the aroma will help clear up congestion and the massages will help open up your airways.

ORGANIC ESSENTIAL OILS: PLANT THERAPY

Organic Peppermint is a fresh, stimulating oil, and when diffused can help enhance alertness and improve energy levels. Because of its menthol content, Peppermint has a lovely cooling effect on the skin.

Organic Lavender is perhaps the most well-known of the essential oils and for good reason. Lavender essential oil is renowned for its many beneficial properties, including promoting calm, relaxation, and being a nervous tension reliever. It can also be added to a carrier oil to help reduce the appearance of scars and wrinkles and help soothe alterations in skin integrity, such as during sun exposure or a minor cooking burn.

Organic Eucalyptus Globulus is an essential oil that is very familiar to the world of oils and is used often. Its strong, aromatic scent makes this a favorite one to use for respiratory support. Organic Eucalyptus Globulus has a very herbaceous scent with soft woody undertones. Originating in India and steam distilled from the leaves of the Eucalyptus tree, Organic Eucalyptus Globulus is 100% pure with no fillers or additives and is an essential oil that is a great asset to have on hand. Blends well with Basil, Cajeput, Cedarwood, Citronella, Frankincense, Ginger, Lavender, Lemon, Spearmint and Tea Tree. Whether it is being used to support aching muscles, promoting a healthy circulation, or stimulating mental focus, this is an oil that is powerful and effective.
