Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you’d like to get some essential oils of your own! I put together a little gift for you. Some recipes for exercise enthusiasts as well as some pre and post work out tips. You can find that by hopping on over to my website – www.amybaumetz.com. One of my favorite ways to naturally care for my body is with essential oils. I also am a lover of physical fitness and exercise. I love being able to merge these two passions to support my body! Essential oils are great for athletes and exercise enthusiasts to help support healthy living and an active lifestyle. I believe that you can combine sound principles of sports medicine (icing, heating, resting, etc) with natural remedies, like essential oils, to increase the body’s recovery time and increase the effectiveness of your workouts. Here are some suggestions!
Breathe Respiratory Blend – Before a workout, I put a drop in my hand, inhale deeply, and rub on my chest. I can do this during my workout as well if I need a boost. This helps open up my airways and promotes clear, healthy breathing.
On Guard Protective Blend – This essential oil blend is all about supporting your immune system in a natural way. One of the best ways for an athlete to use this would actually be to mix some with water and put it in a glass spray bottle to keep in your workout bag. You can spray down equipment, yoga mat, weights, etc with this as you go. I also love making a homemade hand cleansing spray with it rather than using something with chemicals. So easy and so affordable!
Lavender – This essential oil promotes restful sleep, which is very important for recovery. It’s also great for a soothing bath after your workout. You can mix it with some Epsom salts, or even milk; both will help to disperse the oil throughout the bath water. Then you can just sit back and relax and recover from your day.
Melaleuca – We pick up some seriously weird stuff at gyms and fitness centers. Even at home things can travel into our workout space that we don’t necessarily want around. Melaleuca is very cleansing – antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, antiparasitic, antiviral, antiseptic. You could even add some of this essential oil to your On Guard spray for cleaning. Melaleuca is also anti-inflammatory so it’s great for any issues with inflammation. It really is a great essential oil to have!
Peppermint – When it comes to workouts, this essential oil is all about endurance, energizing, combating muscle fatigue and soreness, cramps/charley horse, aches and pains. I really love this essential oil for two things when it comes to working out. I inhale peppermint essential oil deeply to open up my airways before I do any physical activity and it makes a huge difference in my performance. It amazes me every time! The second way I use it is topically because it’s a great essential oil for cooling down. You can mist it on yourself in a spray bottle or just apply it right on your skin. You won’t believe how good it feels!
Deep Blue Rub – Deep Blue Soothing Blend has all these amazing essential oils for supporting pain, discomfort, aches, soreness, etc. My husband has shoulder issues and he actually likes using this before and after workouts –it’s made a big difference for him! You just apply topically to the area of concern. It’s as easy as that! It smells amazing and it feels nice and warm and then has a cooling feel afterwards.
Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex – This product is an internal form of Deep Blue. It’s amazing! You can take it as needed or long term if you have on ongoing issue. If you research some of the downsides of traditional types of medicine we reach for in these situations I think you’d really think twice before using them again. I love having a natural solution! This product has a fast-acting frankincense extract that supports muscle and joint comfort and function. It also has ginger, curcumin (which comes from turmeric), resveratol, and other polyphenols that are soothing.
Mito2Max – This is a natural, non-habit forming energy and stamina complex. Supports health cellular energy production so it’s helping us have optimal mitochondrial function and aerobic capacity without the use of harmful stimulants. Great alternative to caffeinated drinks or anything else you’re using for energy!
Daily Nutrient Pack – In my opinion this is the foundational piece for our health and wellness. The addition of these supplements – they have all your essential vitamins and minerals in appropriate amounts, omega-3s, antioxidants, essential oils, etc – was a game changer for me. I started sleeping better, focusing better, had more energy, and my digestion was completely changed. There is incredible research behind them to ensure that our bodies treat these supplements as food. I want to get the most bang for my buck! So I love these supplements and the affordability and would highly recommend them.
